Chris Ouslis

Chris Ouslis is a co-founder of Fresco Microchip Inc. and serves as Vice President, Integrated Circuit Technology. Prior to Fresco, Mr. Ouslis was the Director of Mixed-Signal IP at Synopsys (NASDAQ: SNPS) until December 2004 wherein he managed a staff of 60 engineers and assisted Synopsys in becoming the dominant supplier of USB 2.0 PHY IP. The designs are in full production in consumer electronics products including portable game players, laser printers, MP3 players, set-top boxes and southbridge chips. During his tenure at Synopsys, his business unit enjoyed a five-fold increase in IP revenue. Mr. Ouslis was the Vice-President of Mixed-Signal Engineering at InSilicon (NASDAQ: INSN) from the time they acquired Xentec until November, 2002 when Synopsys acquired InSilicon. In 1997, Mr. Ouslis co-founded Xentec, a Toronto based supplier of mixed-signal IP. Chris acted as Vice-President, Engineering at Xentec until they were acquired by InSilicon in September, 2000. Xentec was profitable and growing from the outset. Prior to Xentec, Mr. Ouslis was the Vice-President of Engineering at Design Vision where he worked in the area of RFID tracking and location coupled with 3D-based software for retail and property management applications; a US patent was awarded for this work. Mr. Ouslis received his B.A.Sc. degree in Engineering Science in 1985 and his M.A.SC. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1988. He was a Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of Toronto for 7 years in the areas of analog IC design and analog CAD, co-authoring 8 refereed papers, as well as developing and selling the ‘filtorX’ filter design tool.
