Brent Arlitt

Brent Arlitt was most recently director and senior consultant in one of Canada’s leading, consulting companies. Responsible for planning and implementing strategies and projects in both private and public sectors. Initiatives have targeted new technology and methods, increasing profitability, green operations, greater operational efficiency, energy savings, pollution control, lean operations and application of best practices learned throughout an extensive career in a wide variety of operating environments.

Alan McMillan

Mr. Alan McMillan is a dynamic international executive with a history of driving and managing growth for both early stage and mature companies. He has served as CEO and Director of public and private companies and lead a number of successful exits and spent 12 years in Asia. Alan is a past Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai and is the Founding Chair of Acetech Ontario, (now Peerscale) an association of technology CEO’s. He is also a member of Canada Company, an organization that assists with military families and previously was on the Investment Advisory Board of MaRs. Currently, he runs a technology consulting practice based in Toronto. He holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, UOT Rotman School of Business and received his BCOMM from the University of Windsor, Canada.

Avanindra Utukuri

Avanindra is a serial entrepreneur, and has been involved in 5 start-ups to date. As a senior executive in most of these start-ups, he was instrumental in raising capital, providing board oversight, technical management expertise, product direction and strategic vision.
He has over 20 years experience in electronics, software and design experience, including analog\digital hardware, embedded systems, algorithm development and optimization, mathematical modelling, software and GUI development, product and sales strategy.

Catherine Lacavera

Catherine Lacavera joined Google in 2005. As Vice President of Litigation, Employment, and Regulatory Investigations, she manages a team of 150 attorneys and technical advisors, and oversees a global litigation docket that has included more than 1000 patent and other intellectual property matters, including the Viacom and other copyright litigation against YouTube, and the Apple, Microsoft and Oracle copyright and patent litigation directed at Android. Ms. Lacavera also advises on complex licenses and acquisitions, including the acquisition of Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion, the acquisition of Nest for $3.2 billion and the sale of Motorola Home to Arris for $2.35 billion. She obtained her Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Toronto. She has been named one of Fortune Magazine’s 40 Under 40, one of the world’s 50 most influential people in IP by Managing IP, and a Woman Leader in Tech Law by The Recorder. Previously, Ms. Lacavera practiced IP litigation in New York City at a global law firm.

Candice Luck

Candice is currently the Innovation Program Manager at LifeLabs. Candice has an extensive breadth of experience leading complex initiatives, implementing customer-centred design methodologies, and developing strategies to drive innovation across the public and private sectors. Everyday, she is thankful for the opportunity to help build a healthier Canada alongside her LifeLabs colleagues and partners. LifeLabs is the largest community diagnostic laboratory in Canada with over 350 collection centres, 21 laboratories and service over 19 million patients each year.

Innovation:
Candice brings a new perspective to healthcare innovation with her multidisciplinary background in sustainability, design, and business strategy. From early stage R&D studies to mass adoption and regulation, her professional experience spans across a wide spectrum of projects that covers the full innovation diffusion curve. During her time in the building industry, she managed a number of high profile projects including Canada’s largest net zero housing innovation project funded by Natural Resources Canada’s ecoEnergy Innovation Initiative that earned her a Canada’s 2017 Clean50 title. She is excited to bring her learnings from the building industry to the healthcare sector.

Design Thinking and Facilitation:
Candice is a seasoned facilitator with experience delivering innovation and design thinking workshops to a diverse group of participants ranging from corporate executives to military leaders. She’s delivered workshops for Rotman DesignWorks, the Canadian Forces College, University of Toronto’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Hatchery Program, University of Waterloo’s Digital Media Accelerator Centre, and the Toronto District School Board.

Erika J Murray

Erika is a dynamic, results oriented business leader, who exhibits excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills. As an engineer, IP lawyer, and tech founder, Erika draws upon her extensive background and experiences working within industry and as IP counsel for international as well as merging companies to deliver strategic yet practical legal advice.

Erika has proven ability in developing and managing complex relationships with all major stakeholders. Her commitment to “give back” to the community is unparalleled by her involvement at committee, start-up, academic, advisory and participation levels.

Erika values integrity, innovation and commitment to teamwork. She was born and raised in Newfoundland, is bilingual and travels regularly to meet the needs of her clients. Her key strengths are: leadership and project management, stakeholder negotiation and liaison, relationship management & service delivery, community involvement and advocacy, innovative thinking & problem solving, documentation and report writing, teaching, mentoring and coaching, written and verbal communication.
